Govt takes steps to solve arsenic problem in country

The government took various steps to solve the arsenic problem in Bangladesh. Chairman of the Privatisation Commission Enam Ahmed Chowdhury Friday stated this while he was speaking as the chief guest at a seminar on "Reproductive Health Impact of Arsenic" organised by Society for Hospital Administration, Bangladesh (SHAB) at the National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine conference room in the city, reports BSS. Enam Ahmed said: "We have to identify contaminated water in the remote areas and formulate a proper management policy to solve the problem." Principal of the Sahabuddin Medical College AKM Salahuddin presided over the seminar while Dr M Aminul Hasan presented a keynote paper at the seminar. Dr Rowshan Ara Begum, Dr Zahidur Rahman and Dr Khorshed Ali Miah were also present on the occasion.
