Japanese company eyes Indian CTV market

MUMBAI, Dec 5: Funai Electrical Company Ltd., a Japanese consumer durables company, is eyeing the Indian colour television (CTV) market. The company is planning to enter India in 2006. Funai which has annual revenues of over $3 billion, sees prospects in the Rs 20,000 crore Indian CTV market, currently dominated by Korean brands like LG and Samsung. Besides, the company also has plans to introduce products such as DVD players. Apart from CTVs and DVD players, the company makes a range of products including Internet access terminals, computer peripherals and home electrical appliances.
