AFC Under-14 Soccer Kyrgistan beat hosts

Kyrgistan beat Bangladesh by 3 goals to naught in the four-team Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-14 Football Festival at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city Thursday, reports UNB. The Central Asians led the first half by 2-0 goals and then added another feather to their cap. Despite losing the match by huge margin, Bangladesh earned 8.28 points to dominate over their rivals as Kyrgistan bagged eight points from the match. Earlier, in the day’s first match, Iran earned a huge 6-0 goal victory over Sri Lanka after dominating the first half by 3-0 goals at the same venue this afternoon. In the match, winner Iran earned 19.42 points against Sri Lanka who got 18.57 points in their share. In the last league match today (Friday), Kyrgistan will play Sri Lanka while Bangladesh take on Iran at the same venue. On completion of the league-based matches, the highest point-earning team will be champions to win the fair-play trophy. The AFC has arranged the Under-14 football festival in six more countries in Asia, in addition to Bangladesh, to motivate juvenile booters with fair- play spirit for upgrading standards of world soccer.
