Prayers held for London suicide bomber buried in Pakistan

10/29/2005

MULTAN, Oct 28 (AFP): Relatives and friends offered special prayers for one of the apparent suicide bombers who carried out the July 7 London attacks Friday, a day after he was buried in Pakistan.
Witnesses told AFP that about 300 people gathered to recite verses from the Koran at the house of Shehzad Tanweer's uncle in the central Pakistani village of Kotan.
Tanweer, a Briton of Pakistani origin, blew up an underground train at Aldgate station in London, killing seven of the 52 people who died in the attacks on the British capital's transport system. He was 22.
