Global advertising market to grow 4.6pc next year

PARIS, Oct 12 (AFP): The global advertising market is set to grow by 4.6 per cent in 2006 owing partly to increased expenditure on the Winter Olympics in Italy and the Football World Cup in Germany, a survey of seven leading markets showed Wednesday.
In 2006, the five biggest markets in Europe -- Britain, Spain, France, Germany and Italy -- are forecast to grow by 3.4 per cent, the US market is seen expanding by 4.0 percent and Japan by 2.5 per cent, advertising specialist Ad Barometer forecast.
