They say that the number of films in hand of the top stars of the country is decreasing day by day. They say those who were known for their demand, popularity and price are today working in fewer films than ever. Let's see. Arguably the top male actor of Bangladeshi films, Manna has his hands full or so it would seem. His ongoing projects include "Mughal-e-Azam" (Great Mughal), "Jail Thekay Bolchhi" (Speaking from the Jail), "Nirapatta Chai" (I Want Security), "Ack Rokha" (Obstinate), "Jorha Khoon" (Twin Murder), "A Desh Kar" (Whose Country Is This?), "Bhalobashar Dushman" (Enemy of Love), "Teacher", "Leela Monthon" (could be 'Orgiastic Tour de Force' but again could be something else), "Dapot" (The Pot), "City Terror", "Sontrashy Pita" (Thug Father), "Ronangon" (Battleground), "Dafon" (The Phone), "Projapoti" (Butterfly), "Manna" (Nectar-Ambrosia Substitute), "Ackai Ack-Show" (Singly Equal To a Hundred) and Moner Shathhay Juddho" (Battle With One's Heart). That is not exactly a small list. Rubel has had a running battle with lewdness and obscenity and steadfastly refuses to entertain anything objectionable in his films. The problem is a film may have a lily-white reputation and also get a clean bill of health from the censor board but there is absolutely no guarantee that pornographic scenes will not be attached to it afterwards, specially outside the capital. Rubel's current projects are, "Acid", "Larhaku Shontan" (Quarrelsome Offspring, and on occasion, Insane Son), "Badshah Amar Nam' (Badshah Is My Name), "Jolonto Coyla" (Burning Coal), "City Wrongbaaj" (Urban Thug), "Dhakar Shomrat" (King of Dhaka), "Tusher Agoon" (Fire You Don't See-until it's too late), "Gondo-Goal" (Chaos), "Bishakto Chokh" (Poisonous Eyes), "Sadaghater Coolie" (Coolie of Sadarghat), "Danga Dawmonn" (Putting Down Riot), "Mookhosh" (Mask), "AckShow Koti Taka" (Ten Million Takas), "Stationayr Wrongbaaj" (Thug of the Railway Station), "Ma Amar Shorgo" (Mother Is My Paradise), "Jawjayr Phashy" (Hanging Of The Judge), "Top Secret" and "Banglar Raghob" (Mighty Fish Of Bangladesh). Shakib Khan is the rising star of the Bangladesh film industry though he has been around for some time. He is a hard working young man and his labours of the past years are beginning to pay off. Today Shakib Khan is one of the busiest leading men in the film industry, perhaps the busiest. The films that he has in his hands are "City Terror", "Hartal" (Strike), "I Love You", "Nishpap Kayedy" (Innocent Prisoner), "Shopner Bidesh" (Dream Foreign Land), "Amar Shopno Tumy" (You Are My Dream), "Bhalobashar Dushman" (Enemy of Love), "Nikhoj Shongbad" (Missing Report), "Bokul Phooler Mala" (Garland of Bokul Flowers), "Dui Nomborr" (Fraud, Charlatan, Cheat), "Shaath Khoon Maap" (All Is Forgiven, Even Seven Murders), "Aguner Phoolky" (Fire Flash), "Nogno Hamla" (Attack By A Naked Man or even Nude Colony Riot), "Meher Jaan", "Awbujh Bou" (Imbecile Wife), "Khoony Lalu" (Killer Lalu) and Awpomaner Jjala" (Burning Pain Of Insult). Even Moushumi, who has far lesser assignments than say Shabnur can hardly be said to be without work. The films Moushumi is starring are "MeherJaan" "Golapjan", "Jail Theya Bolchee" (Speaking From Jail), "Teacher", "Leela Manthan", "Matritto" (Motherhood), "Molla Barhir Bou" (Bride of the House of Mollah or just plain Mrs. Mollah), "Golapi Akhon Londonay" (Golapi Is Now In London) and "Roktay Amar Agun" (There Is Fire In My Blood). — A Cine Viewer
