The price indices on the Chit-tagong Stock Exchange (CSE) ended mixed Thursday although the losers surpassed the gainers in number.
The trade turnover, in terms of both volume and value, however, went down on the day.
The CSE All Share Price Index rose by 0.35 per cent to close at 3426.50 points from 3414.69 points of Wednesday, the previous trading day.
The CSE-30 Index dropped by 0.19 per cent to close at 3300.70 points from 3307.10 points.
A total of 1.17 million shares and debentures worth Tk 93.63 million changed hands on the day against the previous day's 1.38 million shares and debentures valued at Tk 97.20 million of the previous day.
The total market capitalisation stood at Tk 206.70 billion from Tk 206.08 billion.
The total number of contracts decreased to 3,423 from 3,588 of previous trading day.
A total of 65 issues were traded on the day. Of them, 26 gained, 31 declined and eight remained unchanged.
Pubali Bank was the top gaining issue on the day. Its price rose by 26.13 per cent to close at Tk 1,850.00 from Tk 1,466.75. Its 510 shares valued at Tk 906,393.75 were traded on the day.
Beximco Knitting was the top losing issue on the day. Its price fell by 13.88 per cent to end at Tk 45.00 from Tk 52.25. Some 100 of its shares worth Tk 4,500.00 changed hands on the day.
Beximco Pharma was the top trade turnover leader, in terms of value, on the day. Its 184,279 shares valued at Tk 17.69 million were traded. The price of the issue went up by 2.03 per cent to close at Tk 95.40 from Tk 93.50.
Dhaka Bank was a significant performer on the day. Its 9,632 shares valued at Tk 11.45 million changed hands. The price of the issue fell by 0.80 per cent to close at Tk 1,209.75 from Tk 1,219.50.
