Businessman shot at Mirpur

A business leader of Mirpur Sunday morning sustained bullet wounds beside his left ear by unnamed miscreants, reports BDNEWS.
The victim was identified as Aftab Uddin, general secretary of Mukta Bangla Super Market in Mirpur.
Aftab was admitted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). His condition is stated to be critical, said Afroze, younger brother of the business leader, quoting on-duty doctors of DMCH.
As a rumour of Aftab's death spread at Mirpur, hundreds of people, including businessmen, took to the street and damaged some motor vehicles.
According to family members, locals and police sources, the incident took place in front of his (Aftab) residence at 1/Kha/ of Sec-2 in Block-D, around 11-15 am when the business leader was going to his business establishment.
Suddenly, two gunmen, riding on a motorbike, rushed to the spot and sprayed bullets targeting him and left the place safely. None dared to chase the criminals.
A tense situation is prevailing in the area.
